Etihad Airways unveiled the interior design of its A330neo aircraft at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai on September 14, 2026. This aircraft features a First cabin with four suites designed for mid-range and regional flights, rather than the long-haul services typically associated with First cabins.

Expanding Travel Options for Business Travelers

For British business travelers, this is significant as it expands the choice of private and luxurious seating beyond the airline's flagship aircraft. The Abu Dhabi-based airline has announced that this aircraft will serve high-demand routes in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, areas where many corporate travelers travel after a stopover in Abu Dhabi.

Cabin Details and Features

The new cabins are part of a program called Beyond Borders, aimed at providing a seamless experience of cabin services, lounges, ground services, dining, and hygiene facilities. This program builds on previous efforts such as the improvements in Etihad Airways' luxury travel. The airline is investing $20 billion in new aircraft and enhancing the customer experience, which includes a $1 billion fleet refurbishment program.

This aircraft features three classes. At the front, four First suites each have a closing door, space for guests to dine or socialize, a 32-inch screen, wireless charging, and personal storage space. Each suite also includes a personal grooming station with luxury amenities that guests can take with them after the flight.

The Business class includes 24 fully flat seats, all facing forward and designed with direct aisle access and movable doors. Each seat has a 17.3-inch screen, wireless and wired charging, a large table, and personal storage space suitable for those needing to work or rest.

In Economy class, there are 252 seats with 4K touch screens and personal charging facilities. The Extra Legroom section also offers 32 seats with an additional four inches of space, providing a useful option for travelers who cannot book luxury cabins.

The design theme that Etihad Airways calls "From Sand to Extraordinary Structures" is inspired by the landscapes and architecture of Abu Dhabi. Details include wall lights based on the Etihad facet pattern, real leather in luxury cabins, and First seat numbers reflected on the floor.

Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, stated: "The A321LR showed what is possible when we challenge the expectation model in narrow-body flights. We have brought an exceptional First and Business experience to a single-aisle aircraft, and passengers have responded strongly to this experience and actively chosen to fly with this aircraft."

He also added: "We are also doubling down on First and bringing an exceptional First experience to our new A330, and we will increase the number of First seats in our fleet in the coming years." Full details are available in Etihad Airways' Beyond Borders statement.

The practical outcome for business travel buyers is that Etihad Airways' First cabin will no longer be limited to long-haul flights. With Gulf airlines competing to attract luxury travelers, having a cabin with four suites in mid-range sections provides another option for travel managers.

The First Apartments and The Residence will remain flagship products on the A380, and the airline has announced that it will provide more details about Beyond Borders on the ground and in the sky in the coming months. With the first Etihad A330neo entering service more than a year from now, companies may want to ask airlines in their current negotiations which routes will be served and when the newly designed A321LR will appear.
