Flydubai is set to expand its fleet to over 100 aircraft with the delivery of 11 new planes this year. The Dubai-based airline has also initiated a cabin refurbishment program designed to increase capacity and enhance services for luxury travelers.
Details of New Aircraft Deliveries
The airline has announced that it will receive 7 Boeing 737-9 MAX and 4 Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft this year. The 737-9 MAX features 16 business class seats and 156 economy class seats, offering a significant increase in luxury capacity compared to some 737-8 MAX aircraft that only have 10 business class seats.

Flydubai stated in a release that this increase in luxury capacity will allow it to meet strong demand for business class on key international routes and attract high-yield traffic. This delivery program is part of the airline's fleet modernization strategy aimed at replacing older aircraft and expanding its network.
Cabin Refurbishment Program and New Investments
In the next phase of Flydubai's cabin refurbishment program, which begins this month, 21 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft with reclining business class seats will be converted to lie-flat seats. These changes will take place over the next 12 months, and the overhead bins will also be replaced with larger Boeing models, increasing cabin storage capacity.
The new bins can accommodate up to 6 standard suitcases, while the previous model could only hold 4 suitcases. This refurbishment program, which includes a multi-million dollar investment, aims to enhance the quality of the passenger experience and improve services on flights.
By investing in luxury products and services, Flydubai is striving to expand beyond the low-cost business model it launched in June 2009. The airline opened its business class lounge at Dubai International Airport's Terminal 2 last year and also placed an order for 150 Airbus A321neo and 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft at the Dubai Airshow last November.
