In response to a recent claim by one of the religious leaders of the Jews in Britain that new sanctions against Israeli settlements could pose greater dangers for the Jews in this country, UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband strongly rejected this claim.
Sanctions and the Safety of Jews
Miliband emphasized in his statements that these sanctions not only do not endanger the safety of Jews, but are considered a necessary measure to ensure human rights and justice in the region. He also pointed out that the UK will continue its commitments to support human rights, and this issue should not be influenced by baseless claims.
These statements come amid concerns about rising tensions and potential dangers for the Jewish community in Britain. However, the Foreign Secretary firmly believes that sanctions should in no way be seen as a factor creating insecurity.
