Strange and Inedible Images: Menus Affected by Artificial Intelligence

In today's world where technology is rapidly advancing, artificial intelligence has become one of the essential tools in various sectors. But when it comes to food, can we really trust the images produced by this technology? Recently, a social media user drew attention by sharing images from the menu of a Jamaican barbecue restaurant. These images depicted meats that looked more like leather belts and reptile skins.

Food or Art?

Jill Sennett, a 37-year-old nurse in Denver, was extremely dissatisfied with these images, describing them as "terrible" and "inedible." She believes that the dining experience should be a human and social experience, and these images cannot add any value to that experience. According to her, turning foods into unrecognizable objects through artificial intelligence is a concerning cultural trend.

These images were so unappealing that over 500 people shared them again, expressing similar opinions. This indicates that consumers are highly sensitive to the quality and visual appeal of foods and cannot easily overlook this sensitivity.

The Future of Food Menus

Given these reactions, one must ask whether restaurants should continue this trend or seek more traditional and human methods to attract customers. Using unrealistic images may seem appealing in the short term, but it appears that in the long term, it will erode customer trust.

Ultimately, it seems that while artificial intelligence may help enhance visual appeal, in the world of food, taste and real quality always take precedence. Can restaurants pay attention to this reality and use technology in a way that enhances the dining experience rather than harms it?
