The exhibition titled "Van Gogh, All Our Paintings" has been open to the public since Tuesday and will continue until January. The Kröller-Müller Museum, which holds one of the largest private collections of Van Gogh's works, usually does not display these works collectively.
Alongside "The Potato Eaters," this collection includes other works such as "Café Terrace at Night" from 1888 and "Old Tower in Nuenen" from 1884. The aim of this exhibition is to present all works related to the three theological virtues: faith, hope, and love, which play a significant role in Van Gogh's life and works.
Cultural and Economic Dimensions
This exhibition is recognized as one of the largest Van Gogh exhibitions of this century. Van Gogh, considered one of the most prominent and prolific artists in history, created around 900 paintings during his short life. Many of his well-known works, including the Sunflowers series and several self-portraits, were produced during his stay in France.
Van Gogh committed suicide in 1890 at the age of 37 due to mental health issues. Most of the works present in this exhibition were purchased between 1908 and 1930 by the museum's founder, Helene Kröller-Müller. This exhibition not only provides an opportunity to showcase Van Gogh's artworks but can also help attract tourists and boost the local economy.
