Trump also pointed to the growing dissatisfaction among American citizens regarding the expansion of data centers, claiming that there is a sick conspiracy against artificial intelligence and data centers. He added, "The only one who is happy about this situation is China." These remarks follow significant announcements in the tech world.

Response to AI Concerns
On Saturday, Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, published a nearly 4,000-word article addressing the growing concerns about artificial intelligence. He stated, "Since this summer, artificial intelligence has progressed significantly faster" and called for a slowdown in the improvement of AI model capabilities. This request came after Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, and Elon Musk, head of X, also called for a deceleration of this process.
However, Bernie Sanders, the independent U.S. senator who has consistently called for more oversight of artificial intelligence, announced that he intends to maintain his pressure for increased accountability and regulation. In response to Amodei's comments and others, he said, "This is a start, but it's not enough. When you're heading towards a cliff, you can't just drive more slowly... You have to hit the brakes."
Criticism of Data Center Construction
Opponents of data center construction, which have increased due to the AI boom, are rapidly expanding in the United States and around the world. Last week, Anthropic released a report in an effort to promote transparency and show how to prevent the misuse of its technology, describing several incidents where individuals used the company's AI models to develop biological weapons. The report also referenced ambitious weapon development efforts in northern Yemen, where a group was working on three advanced missile projects simultaneously.
Just a few days before the release of this report, a senior researcher at Anthropic named Jacob Caxton resigned, warning in a letter that oversight of activities is very low and many people "strongly believe in the construction of AI and believe that this technology could endanger us by the end of the decade."
