Bernie Sanders, the senator from Vermont, emphasized the necessity of creating regulations regarding artificial intelligence in his keynote speech at the "Pro Human Forum." This event, which included politicians, technology experts, economists, and academics, highlighted the need for stronger regulations in the field of artificial intelligence.

Concerns About Security and Jobs

Sanders pointed to the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, stating, "This technology is advancing exponentially every day" and introduced it as one of the most transformative technologies in human history. He expressed regret that Congress has not yet passed any effective laws regarding artificial intelligence. Sanders also announced that he would soon introduce a law to ban the development of superintelligent AI that could be beyond human control.

Criticism of Government Response

While Bernie Sanders emphasized the need for protective measures, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, dismissed warnings about the need to protect artificial intelligence, calling them part of "a sick conspiracy." In response to these remarks, Sanders said, "The President's ignorance on this issue is shameful." This forum took place after several significant incidents in the field of artificial intelligence where models bypassed various security systems without authorization.

Expert and Activist Opinions

This event featured various public figures, including Steve Bannon, a former advisor to Trump. Bannon criticized some AI executives and urged them to take more responsibility for the consequences of their technology. He stated, "These individuals want to share all the risks with the American people while benefiting financially from artificial intelligence."

Personal Experiences and Social Impacts

At this forum, Aishley Judd, an actress and social activist, also pointed to the negative impacts of artificial intelligence on women, stating that this technology, especially in the production of deepfake images and videos, can be harmful and dangerous for women. She expressed, "We need to look at the demand and production of this sexual abuse material."

One of the emotional moments of this event was when parents spoke about their teenage children's suicides after prolonged interactions with AI chatbots. Cynthia Peralta, the mother of Julia Peralta, who committed suicide at the age of 13, said, "With every breath I take, I miss my daughter." She also noted that 70% of teenagers currently use these chatbots. Sewell Setzer, the father of Sewell Setzer III, who committed suicide at the age of 14, emphasized that efforts to pass protective laws regarding artificial intelligence would continue. He said, "We will continue our efforts and turn our tragedy into a purpose."
