Etihad Airways announced that it will reopen its lounge at London Heathrow Airport in the summer of 2027 after extensive renovations. This renovation aims to enhance the passenger experience and upgrade the services in this lounge.
Renovation and New Design
The Etihad lounge at Heathrow Airport has been temporarily closed due to major renovations. This renovation includes the implementation of a new design and the design language "Beyond Borders" which was first introduced in the interior design of the airline's new aircraft. The goal of these changes is to create consistency in the design of Etihad lounges and aircraft, providing passengers with a sense of continuity and integration.

New Lounge Features
Etihad Airways showcased an initial preview of the new design at the Arabian Travel Market. This design includes central features and a new bar that will be added to the Heathrow lounge space. The new design is inspired by the natural and modern landscapes of Abu Dhabi and also includes the use of materials, textures, lighting, and specific design details.
The new lounge experience is part of Etihad's larger program titled "Beyond Borders," aimed at creating consistency in guest travel through investments in aircraft, lounges, food, amenities, health, communications, and services. These renovations are part of a $20 billion investment by Etihad in new aircraft and improving customer experience, which includes a $1 billion fleet modernization program.
Expansion to Lounge Network
The new designs and experiences will also be extended to Etihad's new lounges across the airline's network. This way, these lounges will become advanced gateways that showcase the Etihad experience and will be aligned with the design language and hospitality principles introduced in the new "Beyond Borders" products and experiences.
Each lounge will include dedicated spaces for business and first-class guests, as well as private suites for guests traveling in "The Residence."
