Macklemore has entered a controversial discussion by announcing that he will donate all his earnings from Ed Sheeran's "Loop" tour to organizations supporting Palestinians. This American rapper was recently removed from the tour due to his comments in support of Palestine.

Donation of One Million Dollars to Six Organizations

Macklemore plans to donate one million dollars from his earnings from Ed Sheeran's tour to six different organizations. These organizations include the "Palestinian Children's Relief Fund," "Healing Palestine," "Gaza Soup Kitchen," "Medical Aid for Palestinians," "National Committee for UNRWA in the United States," and "Angra." He has also asked Robert Kraft, the billionaire owner of the New England Patriots football team, to join this initiative and donate a similar amount.

Macklemore's Challenge and Kraft's Response

Following Macklemore's challenge, Robert Kraft and Ed Sheeran each announced that they would donate an additional two million dollars for humanitarian aid to the region. Kraft clarified that Sheeran had contacted him before Macklemore's challenge and asked him to commit to the two million dollars. According to Kraft, the goal is to garner support from other concert venue owners as well.

After these decisions, the total donations reached five million dollars. These developments come in the wake of the controversy that occurred during Ed Sheeran's American tour. Macklemore was removed from the remaining dates of the "Loop" tour a few days ago after he expressed support for Palestine during two concerts at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and called for the freedom of Palestine.

Reactions and Consequences

Macklemore's statements prompted the Israeli-American Council to start a petition to remove him from the tour. Kraft also confirmed that Macklemore would not be allowed to perform at Gillette Stadium and accused him of having a "long history of anti-Semitic language and imagery." Macklemore denied these accusations and stated that he would continue to support Palestinians.

Ed Sheeran stated in a statement that he personally did not remove Macklemore from the tour and mentioned that several venue owners had protested his performance. He also emphasized that the final decision in this regard was up to the organizers. This crisis has gradually expanded, and all four remaining opening acts for Sheeran have also withdrawn from their performances in solidarity with Macklemore and Palestine.

In a post that Macklemore published on Wednesday, he emphasized that he wants to focus on Palestinians affected by the war, including families, doctors, aid workers, journalists, and relief staff. He stated that after media attention on this controversy fades, he will continue to support Palestinians and wrote: "The life of a Palestinian is no less valuable than any other life."
