flydubai has commenced its fleet growth with an expansion to over 100 aircraft and the launch of a cabin refurbishment program in September. The company plans to add 11 new aircraft to its fleet by 2026, including seven Boeing 737-9 MAX and four Boeing 737-8 MAX.
Fleet Refurbishment Program
The delivery of these aircraft is part of flydubai's long-term fleet refurbishment program, aimed at replacing older aircraft and increasing flexibility in expanding its flight network. This initiative allows flydubai to enhance its capacity on high-demand routes and seize future growth opportunities.

With the introduction of new generation aircraft, flydubai continues its commitment to maintaining a younger fleet with optimized fuel consumption, providing its customers with a consistent and improved flying experience. Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, described these changes as a sign of progress and commitment to the long-term fleet strategy.
Enhancing Customer Travel Experience
The cabin refurbishment program will also begin in September, and over the next 12 months, 21 existing aircraft equipped with recliner business class seats will be upgraded to lie-flat seats, providing greater comfort for passengers. Additionally, the overhead bins for carry-on luggage will be replaced with larger Boeing bins, increasing cabin baggage capacity and smoothing the boarding experience for passengers.
These new bins can hold up to six standard suitcases, compared to four suitcases in regular bins. This program continues flydubai's previous investment in cabin refurbishment, providing a better experience for travelers.
The fleet expansion and refurbishment program is part of flydubai's extensive investment in strengthening its future capabilities. The company is looking to enhance its products and services, technology, training, and engineering infrastructure to prepare for its next phase of growth and to bolster Dubai as a leading global hub for aviation, trade, and tourism.
Since its launch in June 2009, flydubai has transported over 137 million passengers and established a network of 125 destinations in 56 countries. The company has contributed to increasing cultural and business connections by opening over 100 new routes that previously had no direct air links to Dubai.
