Global Quantum X (GQX), as part of GITEX, has recently announced that it will hold a new event entirely dedicated to quantum technology in 2027. This event, in collaboration with the UAE Cyber Security Council, is designed to bring together governments, quantum technology companies, national cyber security entities, research institutions, commercial adopters, and investors in one location.
Economic Impacts of Quantum Technology
The aim of this event is to examine both the commercial adoption aspects and the necessary security frameworks to address new challenges. Dr. Mohammed Al-Kuwaiti, head of the UAE Cyber Security Council, emphasized that the launch of Global Quantum X allows for a secure transition to quantum technology, showcasing independent cryptographic capabilities and national readiness testing on a global stage. He also noted that this event will be the largest version of GISEC Global.
Trends and Predictions
Quantum technology is soon to be recognized as a new economic driving force. According to a McKinsey report, one-third of global companies are currently spending over $10 million annually on quantum initiatives, and this technology is expected to create an economic value of $2.7 trillion in the next decade. This underscores the significance of the Global Quantum X event in the realm of quantum security and its commercial adoption.
Trixie Louhamer-Mend, Executive Vice President of inD, the organizer of GISEC Global and GQX, stated that the same computational power that can lead to advancements in medical, materials, and financial fields also jeopardizes today's cryptographic security. For this reason, cyber security and quantum technology can no longer be examined separately.
