SATEXPO, as a dedicated platform for the satellite and space industry alongside CABSAT, will be held from October 5 to 7, 2026, at the Dubai Exhibition Center. This event gathers satellite operators, manufacturers, technology providers, system integration companies, launch service providers, government entities, and emerging space businesses.
Definition and Goals of SATEXPO
Rajendra Salgaonkar, Head of Sales at the Dubai World Trade Center's exhibition department, announced that the name SATEXPO was chosen to showcase a broader ecosystem that includes space technologies, communications, earth observation, and defense programs. This name clearly reflects our goal of creating a leading business platform in the Middle East for the satellite and space industry.

While satellite communications have a long-standing relationship with media distribution, SATEXPO aims to expand the scope of discussions and cover topics such as space infrastructure, national space programs, and investment in this field. This event helps maintain natural relationships between the broadcasting and satellite industries by attracting more decision-makers and buyers.
Support from the UAE Space Agency
The UAE Space Agency has confirmed its support for SATEXPO, emphasizing the connection of this event with the broader space goals of the UAE. Organizers are also collaborating with industry associations, trade organizations, and government entities to develop the conference program and encourage participation.
Salgaonkar explained, "The support of the UAE Space Agency provides important strategic backing and strengthens SATEXPO's role in advancing regional space development." This event helps create a platform for discussions among policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, and technology innovators.
The second edition of this event is expected to welcome established businesses as well as new companies. Special opportunities will also be created for startups and emerging technology companies to present their solutions and connect with potential investors and customers.
Conference Topics and Industry Challenges
The SATEXPO conference program will examine established satellite markets and new technologies that are transforming the industry. Content distribution and corporate communications will also be part of this program. These discussions will cover direct-to-device communications, software satellites, earth observation analytics, and governance space capabilities.
In addition to technology, the conference will address the business, policy, and legal challenges faced by the industry. Topics such as spectrum management, investment and financing, cybersecurity, sustainability, and reducing space debris are among these challenges that require greater collaboration among governments, regulators, and technology providers.
Participants will also be encouraged to use this event to showcase technologies, launch products, and announce new partnerships. Business interactions will include pre-scheduled meetings, hosted buyer sessions, and direct engagement between participating companies and government entities.
Co-locating with CABSAT gives SATEXPO an additional advantage. Salgaonkar stated, "Participants can connect with a wider range of decision-makers, creating valuable opportunities for cross-industry businesses." Dubai, with significant investments in national space programs and growing international partnerships, has become a suitable location for hosting this event.
