The Iranian delegation will be allowed to attend the UN General Assembly in New York next week. The US State Department announced that this action is part of the host country's commitments. However, the Iranian delegation is subject to restrictions, including a ban on purchasing luxury goods and travel limitations within the United States.

Details of the Iranian Delegation's Travel Restrictions

An official from the US State Department stated that members of the "main delegation" of the Iranian regime have received visas. This official explained that the number of members in the Iranian delegation has decreased compared to last year. Given the existing tensions between the US and Iran, this trip is conducted under specific supervision and restrictions. In particular, the Iranian delegation is traveling to New York while the relations between the two countries are in a critical state.

Consequences and Political Dimensions

This decision comes as yesterday, the US denied Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and other Palestinian leaders permission to travel to New York, stating that these individuals must be held accountable for "praising terrorism." In this context, the decisions of the US State Department clearly reflect the foreign policies of the United States and its stance regarding Iran and Palestine.

Among the Iranian delegation, it seems that the presence of Ebrahim Raisi in this trip has been confirmed. He also participated in this assembly last year. Reports indicate that Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, will also attend this event. It is noteworthy that the UN General Assembly has recently allowed Mahmoud Abbas to speak at this meeting via video, while his visa for traveling to New York has been denied again.
